Alexandra is a licensed clinical social worker providing psychotherapy to adults in the Boston area. She works with individuals navigating life transitions, relationship difficulties, and identity or self-esteem challenges. She also has experience supporting families in conflict, and those struggling to cope with a family member’s psychiatric illness. In her clinical work, she draws upon a combination of evidence-based therapies, primarily psychodynamic psychotherapy, mentalization-based therapy (MBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Alexandra uses an integrative approach to tailor treatment to the needs, values, and goals of each client, blending psychotherapeutic techniques with a healthy dose of humor, as well as practical support toward mind-body wellbeing. While her work is primarily insight-oriented, she is trained in and will incorporate behavioral principles and skills-based interventions when appropriate. She has particular interest in women’s mental health, and the complex challenges faced by college students, young adults, and the perinatal, postpartum, and parenting population.
Alexandra has provided clinical services to individuals and families across multiple levels of care at McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, including inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. She has also worked in the educational, medical, and juvenile justice systems, informing a nuanced appreciation for the transaction between an individual and their sociocultural environment. She has completed advanced post-graduate training at the Gunderson Personality Disorders Institute (GPDI) at McLean Hospital, as well as in the fellowship program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society & Institute (BPSI). Alexandra received her Master of Social Work (MSW) at Boston University, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in History at Colgate University.
